Active Schools Annual Cross Country

45 children took part in the Active Schools annual Cross Country event held at Cardinal Heenan High School. The course was not an easy one, however we had some fantastic results on the day with Stefan Robottom finishing in 13th place in the year 5 boys race, Cheani Williams finishing 11th in the year 5 girls race, Sian Bernard finishing 9th in the year 6 girls race and Sebastian Bryan finishing 10th in the year 6 boys race (each race had approximately 120 + runners).  All participants should be proud of themselves as they were a credit to the school.

Datacable Cup news

Year 4 march on to the next round of the Datacable Cup with a tremendous 4-1 win against St. Josephs Primary School Wetherby.

Well there’s not much I can say other than what a fantastic performance! The year 4 footballers really did shine, they played brilliant football from start to finish and all involved were exceptional.

Allerton took the lead within the first 5 minutes and there was never any doubt as to who was going to win. It didn’t come easy though as St. Jospeh’s put in a great performance but Allertons work rate, attitude and team work prevailed.

The Road to Wembley

The year 6 football team took part in the Leeds United Foundation Road to Wembley tournament which saw 14 local schools fight it out for a spot in the next round. Unfortunately Allerton didn’t progress any further but they can be proud of the way that they performed and they gave a very good account of themselves.

Girls finish the year in winning form.

Allerton C of E Primary School hosted both Alwoodley Primary School and Hillcrest Primary School on a very cold and wet evening, however this did not put our girls off as they ran out 6-0 winners against Hillcrest Primary School and 1-0 winners against Alwoodley Primary School. Goals game from Toni Barratt (3) Sian Bernard (2) Ellie May Timms Gale (1) and Abbie Stokes (1). The girls have developed so much over the last term and are a real credit to themselves and the school, they are desperate to learn and have taken on board what they have been asked to do and that reflects in the results that they have had.

Netballer’s are off to a flying start!

The Netballers have been training hard all year and this showed when they took part in the Active Schools Come and Try Netball festival. Both teams went unbeaten in all 4 of their games and all performed really well. There was some great netball played and the children’s attitude, commitment and sportsmanship was exemplary. It was also really nice to see some new faces representing the school team.  A huge well done to all involved.
