A strong week of ACE football!

A wonderful week for Allerton CE football was topped off yesterday with another victory and a clean sheet, once again!

On Tuesday we travelled to Shadwell Primary. Goals from Alex, Jeremiah and Lucas guided ACE to a 3-0 victory. Shout out to Oscar for some outrageous saves – one even earned him a high five from the Shadwell coach!

Back to back, we hosted St Paul’s on Thursday, claiming another clean sheet and a 2-0 victory with goals from Alex and Jeremiah.

Well done to Jeremiah for earning player of the game in both matches, voted for by the opposition.

Year 3 Friendly

On Thursday, our Year 3 team hosted St Urbans for a friendly football match. Our ACE team were truly ace as they stomped to victory 6-0 with goals Yasa (3), Bernat (2) and Albert (1). A huge thank you to all the families that attended to support our young athletes.

Legend Lee Burgess visits ACE!

On Tuesday 23rd January 2024 Lee Burgess visited ACE and told a substantial audience, including the current football team, all about his life as a professional footballer right to his development as a leading coach.

Lee Burgess was Academy Director for ESPZEN Singapore in association with Real Madrid FC Football foundation. He managed 700 children from age 6-16 and 50 coaches. He was also responsible for the safe delivery of training all over south east Asia and organised tournaments in Bangkok & Phuket. He won the south east Asia league with the U10 in his first year.

Lee was an academy coach at Leeds United for 8 Years. He had UEFA B – UEFA A for children. He had 2 years work experience at Blackburn Rovers FC, coaching in their academy. He also played professional football at Bradford City and Hull City.

The children and parents were really engaged and even got the chance to ask any questions they had at the end.

We would like to thank Lee for taking the time to come and speak and inspire our ACE community.

ACE Football goes semi pro!

Yesterday our ACE football team travelled to the Horsfall Stadium, in Bradford, which is the home of Bradford Park Avenue, one of our local semi-professional football teams and school link, to take part in the Integra Insurance Primary School Cup.

There were 18 schools playing in 4 groups, each fielding 7 a side teams.

ACE stormed into a convincing win in the first game. We then lost but the team rallied and gave their all to secure 3 wins and a draw out of eight games.

ACE’s goal of the tournament came from Wilson with a spectacular volley. The goals overall were plentiful with Wilson Scoring 5, Atherio 1, Ayaan 1, Neo 1 and a disallowed one by Kael.

The boys played well as a team. Beaming smiles provided very clear evidence of how much they all enjoyed the afternoon. The boys were all given water bottles by the club.

As Observers the team made us very proud and their work rate was excellent. Every single player gave their all. Well done team ACE!

A rain-soaked victory

Match report by Mr Ash.

Within the opening minutes, a whipped in free kick saw Kenzie bag the opening goal and set the team up for the rest of the match. Throughout the first half, the team played some incredible football even in the most difficult of conditions.

Despite Gledhow equalising in the closing moments of the half, Allerton continued to stay positive and play attacking football. The second half saw this high energy attack pay dividends with Michael managing to squeeze the ball passed the Gledhow goalkeeper.

A special mention must go to Lana whose tenacious defending helped break up the Gledhow attacks and kept their front three at bay.

Despite the rain lashing down, our ACE footballers showed great resilience and teamwork to gain a well-deserved victory. Proving that they could do it on a cold, rainy night at Gledhow!

League match @ Carr Manor Primary School

A HUGE well done to the football team who managed to break our 2 month scoring drought in a 2-0 victory over Carr Manor Primary School. Both teams played very well and used space effectively to ensure we had a great game of football.

Well done to Kai who scored both goals for us.

Again, a massive thank you to the Friends of Allerton for providing us with a new team kit, it proved to be very lucky!

We move up to third in the league!

Year 3/4 Football @ Richmond Hill

We took our Year 3/4 football team to Richmond Hill Academy for a come and play football event. The children played well as a team, experimenting with different positions and had a very positive experience at competitive sport. Unfortunately, we lost both games 1-0 and 2-1 but the enjoyment, effort and team work has filled me with hope for the future!

Special mention to Nathan as the only Year 3 in the team!

ACE @ All Saints

On Monday we travelled with the football team for an away game at All Saints. In a hard fought battle the ended up 0-0 but both teams massively impressed all staff from both schools.

The passion, team work and desire to win, matched with outstanding sportsmanship was on display from the kick off to the final whistle.

Special mention to Liam who had an amazing game in goal and kept us in the game throughout!
