League match @ Carr Manor Primary School

A HUGE well done to the football team who managed to break our 2 month scoring drought in a 2-0 victory over Carr Manor Primary School. Both teams played very well and used space effectively to ensure we had a great game of football.

Well done to Kai who scored both goals for us.

Again, a massive thank you to the Friends of Allerton for providing us with a new team kit, it proved to be very lucky!

We move up to third in the league!

Year 3/4 Football @ Richmond Hill

We took our Year 3/4 football team to Richmond Hill Academy for a come and play football event. The children played well as a team, experimenting with different positions and had a very positive experience at competitive sport. Unfortunately, we lost both games 1-0 and 2-1 but the enjoyment, effort and team work has filled me with hope for the future!

Special mention to Nathan as the only Year 3 in the team!

ACE @ All Saints

On Monday we travelled with the football team for an away game at All Saints. In a hard fought battle the ended up 0-0 but both teams massively impressed all staff from both schools.

The passion, team work and desire to win, matched with outstanding sportsmanship was on display from the kick off to the final whistle.

Special mention to Liam who had an amazing game in goal and kept us in the game throughout!

Away match @ St Pauls

After school we travelled over the road to St Pauls with our football team to take them on. This was our first game of the season against our local rivals and it ended in a 0-0 draw.

The team played well and created lots of chances but just couldn’t beat the St Pauls goalkeeper.

Huge well done to all the team and we look forward to the next match!

Leeds champions!

Last week our girls football team came in first place, beating out 14 schools, in a Premier Stars event hosted by Leeds United.

The girls made ACE proud and were models of resilience, desire, commitment and excellence.

Scoring was led by Kariss with 5, Nyiema with 3 and Alexia adding 2.

Year 6 football 2nd October

On the 2nd of October, our Year 6 football team took on Alwoodley Primary School in the first game of the football season. In a well battled game, we saw commitment, teamwork and high levels of sportsmanship throughout. Unfortunately, we lost the game 3-1 but Mr Kay and I were incredibly proud of the team and look forward to future matches!

A very well done to everyone who played and a special thank you to the parents who turned up to support our young athletes!

Year 4 football team go out of the cup on penalties!!

The year 4 footballers exited the cup in the quarter finals in the cruelest way possible by being beaten 3-1 on penalties. The game finished 3-3 after full time and the score line remained the same after extra time, so there was only one thing for it ton decide the tie and that was penalties!!

Unfortunately Allerton C of E Primary School lost 3-1. The team played with real heart and having been behind three times in the match they worked incredibly hard to get themselves back in the game and it was a shame to see them exit the cup in such a way. I am confident that they will come back from the defeat and they should be proud of what they achieved and how they played.

Year 6 football vs Shire Oaks

The year 6 football team saw themselves knocked out of the League Cup in what was a very bizarre match against Shire Oaks Primary School.

Although the team started slowly and found themselves 2-0 down within minutes  they soon found their stride and adapted their game to the small pitch and went in to the half time break 2-1 down. I was confident that the team would draw level which they did very early in the second half and much the same as the year 5 game they created chance after chance but just could not find the back of the net, and they were punished for this late in the second half when Shire Oaks scored twice in quick succession to win the game 4-2 and proceed in to the next round. A tough lesson learned but again I am confident that the performances will continue to improve and we will start turning the score lines around.

Year 5 football

The year 5 football team saw themselves the wrong end of a 3-1 score line!!

The team were fantastic from start to finish and played the best football they have played all year but they just couldn’t put the ball in the back of the oppositions net. It was a really frustrating game for all involved as the team worked so hard but just couldn’t convert their chances. Whilst a win would have been great I am still very proud of the way they played and I am confident that the great performances will start winning them games.

Keep up the hard work!!

Year 5 football against St Augustine’s

The year 5 football team suffered a cruel defeat to St. Augustine’s Primary School. It was definitely a game of two halves as Allerton started slowly and found themselves 2-0 at half time, however  they turned it around in the second half and drew level within minutes. Both teams battled it out for the remainder of the half and it looked like it was going to finish 2-2 BUT a brief lapse in concentration saw St. Augustine’s score with the last kick of the game.
