This years sports day took place on Wednesday 11th June at Leeds Beckett University. We had such an amazing day filled with team work, encouragement, smiles, laughter and lots of fun.

Birkedale, Sunningdale, Turnberry and Wentworth all battled against each other by competing in events on the track and team games on the field, to win as many points for their house as possible. Who would come out on top?

It was a beautiful day with the sun shining down. Lots of sun cream and water were required. We didn’t have any moans or groans about the heat, they all got stuck into each activity and gave it their all. We had an opening and closing performance from our school cheerleading team who have worked extremely hard over the past few months ready to show their fantastic skills to everyone.

After a brilliant day of lots of hard work and dedication from the children and lots of cheering and encouragement from our parents and family members we had to have a winner! The points were counted, the trophy was gleaming and Mrs Stott was ready to reveal the winning house.

The winner of sports day 2025 was…….. Birkdale. Huge congratulations to you and a big well done to everybody who took part in such a fantastic day.

We would like to give our thanks to Leeds Beckett University and their staff for allowing us to use their facilities for another year. GSAL, who provided us with the coaches to and from sports day. The PE team, who planned and organised the day. Teachers and Teaching assistants, for being super on it and getting everybody where they needed to be at the right time. Parents and family members for taking time out of your busy days to come and support the event. Our ACE children for just showing what a credit you are to our school.
