Year 2 athletics competition

25 Year 2 children represented the school in a mini athletics competition which was held at Allerton High School. They were competing against two other schools in the area in a variety or running, jumping and throwing events. The children were a credit to the school and they worked extremely hard in all events, the best bit about it was that they had a smile on their faces from start to finish.

Year 6 football against Hovingham

The year 6 footballers played their first football match of the new year in a friendly against Hovingham Primary School. The team were a bit rusty which was to be expected but as the game wore on the performance got better and better. Although the team lost 3-2 there were a lot of positives to draw from the game and I am sure that the team will get back to winning ways very soon.

Netball match against Holy Rosary

The netballers suffered a heavy defeat against Holy Rosary Primary School, in what was their first ever league match, and although the score line wasn’t one that we were wanting there were a lot of positives to take away from the match. It was a very shaky start from Allerton C of E Primary School and it was clear from the start that the team were very nervous but as the game progressed they grew in confidence and continued to show real determination throughout the game. I am confident that with a few more games and a bit more training the team will go from strength to strength.

Active Schools Inclusive Sports Hall Athletics’

What a fantastic morning we had at the ‘Active Schools Inclusive Sports Hall Athletics’.

7 children from Key Stage 2 were selected to take part in a variety or running, jumping and throwing events in what was a really fun packed morning at The John Charles Centre for Sport. The children worked really hard in all of the activities and showed real commitment and determination to succeed. There efforts were not in vain as the team were selected to represent Leeds at the West Yorkshire School Games in Huddersfield on Wednesday 8th March 2017.

A huge well done to all involved.

Leeds Force inspires Year 5 pupils.

Thirteen children from year 5 took part in the ‘Active Schools Come and Try Basketball Session’ lead by Leeds Force. The children participated in a variety of different skills and drills with the evening culminating in some small sided matches.  The coaches and staff were fantastic and the children were engaged active from start to finish- they didn’t want it to end. All involved were absolutely fantastic.
